I always thought the purpose of preschool was just to teach kids how to share, without a strong emphasis on academics. By today’s standards, being prepared for Kindergarten not only requires social skills, but academia. This is in contrast to when we were kids, now, our kids have to be almost fluently reading by the end of Kindergarten. Mrs. Davis will do whatever it takes to give your kid what they need, so this is why Chester Co-op believes in teaching academics from a young age. |
"I always have chosen a cooperative preschool in all of the different places I have lived because I wanted to be able to participate in the classroom activities. I didn't want to drop off my child at the door, not knowing what was going on in his preschool life. While I have always been satisfied with the experiences my older children had at their own co-op preschools, I have been especially impressed by the academic emphasis at the Chester Co-op Preschool. My older kids didn't really get the hang of reading until they were about six. My child who is not yet five already knows a number of sight words, has started to write and is comprehensively ahead of where his siblings were at this point in their lives. I wholeheartedly recommend this preschool for other children because it gets them ready to learn!"

"I have been with the Chester Co-op Preschool for the past five years. My three children have been involved from 18 months old in the Mom & Tot class through graduating the Pre-K class. I cannot emphasize enough what a positive experience the Chester Co-op Preschool program and teacher, Mrs. Kelly Davis, have had on my children and family. My children's socializaion and academic skills have benefited so much from the school. Kelly Davis is unlike no other preschool teacher I have ever seen. She is 110% devoted to her students, their families and the school. The school offers a very warm and friendly atmosphere and it is so fun to watch and be involved in each child's growth throughout each and every year. As a parent to another parent looking for a preschool . . . your search stops here!" |
"My second son now looks forward to his time with Mrs. Davis as we began the Mom and Tot class this year. His big brother is in the 3-day class. It is great having both of my kids comfortable with the same teacher. It makes it very easy to extend the school day teachings at home and to keep it consistent. I see a tremendous difference in both of my kids at home with simple things such as listening and being respectful which further improves our family time."
-Ryan, father of three
"My son wakes up everyday and asks if he can go to school and see his friends and Mrs. Davis. Mrs. Davis is amazing - she can handle any situation that arises during the day, and is incredible at helping kids learn not just academics, but social skills, respect for others, and how to express how they are feeling. My son loves coming home and telling me all about what he learned and played with that day. Now that it is summer, he is counting down the weeks until school starts again in the fall!" |
"I appreciate the small class sizes and the one-on-one time Mrs. Davis devotes to each of the students, in all the classes. I have noticed she adjusts this time on an individual basis for each student and does it in such a way that the kids can’t wait for their turn with her. "
-John, father of two
"I couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll our kids at Chester Co-Op Preschool. My daughter and I started with the Mom and Tot class, so once she started the 2-day class on her own she was prepared and not nervous about being away from mom. She couldn’t wait for her first day and continues to look forward to it each day. Being the parent helper and watching Mrs. Davis as she interacts with the children has also indirectly taught me how to be a better parent. The environment of the Chester Co-Op is also very conducive to getting to know the other parents which has always been comforting." |
